Had been inspired by a mixture of Cyberpunk and Steampunk prior to drawing this. Mostly this started out as a side sketch that I was working on little by little whenever I didn't actually have to much to work on just to pass the time. However somewhere in the middle I really wanted to actually finish it because it was turning out rather nice.
When I had been working on the sketch I was imagining some Cyberpunk/Steampunk cross alternate reality at war. Due to the limited and costly communication technologies available people have come to rely on message runners to deliver messages to the various leaders of the battlefield, much like those guys who use to run in the trenches to deliver messages. Despite the dangers these runners would dedicate their lives to ensuring that their job is done and the message delivered. The runners would each have their own preferred methods to deliver these messages but I figured that since this runner prefers working alone that she would travel light. She would only be carrying the message at hand and a small side arm with only enough ammunition for a single reload.
Unfortunately that plot is now crap to me and has been ever since I heard of Mirrors Edge. Which despite having already pre-ordered it for the PS3 a while ago it has me so excited so much that I'm sure that I'll lose the functionality of my F5 key here soon. Though I'm still very happy that the drawing came out really nice.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
